The Natural History Museum Rotterdam (NMR) holds a collection of about 250.000 - 300.000 specimens/samples which are available for scientific research. A significant part of the collection has been recorded in a database that is available here for online search.

The online collection-database of the Natural History Museum Rotterdam is based on CB2.0 collection-registration software, developed by Frans Slieker, and was made possible thanks to financial support of Netherlands Biodiversity Information Facility (NLBIF), with technical support of ETI Bioinformatics. The online NMR collection-database is also available in the GBIF network.
